Are you a worrier? This is not an uncommon condition. The dictionary has over 118 synonyms and antonyms for the word worry, best described as anxious, troubled and even tormented. Many of us spend time with concerns over how our children will be safe, will I have enough money to pay the bills this month, does God see me as worthy to enter the gates of heaven, and a myriad of other worries.
We have all heard the phrase “don’t waste time on worrying.” Easier said than done???? When our thoughts become excessive, it can color our world. TRUST is that little word that tells us how we need to believe in God! Our trust can make a huge difference. It has the ability to turn negative into positive, give us purpose and a totally different prospective. Most often our worries are centered on those near and dear to us. We may be even harming them through our overzealous concern. Worry is yet another part of our human experience.
St Paul knew firsthand of his anxiety surrounding his ministry. In (2 Cor. 11:28) “he tells us of the pressure he felt for the churches under his care.“
A Prayer to enable us to let go of our worries.
Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around peace in our mind, body, soul, and spirit. We want you to remove everything that causes stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives. Please guide our path through life and make all at peace within us. Amen
