Can you imagine giving up your favorite pen? Not because it ran out of ink, but rather to allow someone else into the relay for which it was used. Today was another of those times, when I looked forward to hearing the quips and laughter of a beautiful effervescent lady. She was coming to teach us how to temporarily fill the role she has held on the bereavement team since the Altar Guild was formed in the church, which is now Great Oaks Academy.
She shared powerful thoughts and emotions in her heartfelt messages, bringing comfort to those who had lost a loved one. Not until a quick math equation, did I fully comprehend the time and talent it would take to write the innumerable notes and enclose booklets per year. This is an exemplary demonstration of what we are taught in (Colossians 3:23) "Commit your works to the Lord."
Fr Stanley often refers to her as a little feather with a big personality. There is no way to adequately thank her for the great contribution she has made. We love her and trust that God will continue to write the story of Maureen Colo.
May our loving God bless Maureen and her family. Mary Jo
