Dear Parishioners and Friends,
Inspired by the Holy Spirit and guided by the United States Bishops, the Catholics in our country continue on the journey of “Eucharistic Revival.” This spiritual movement is intended to deepen our faith and renew our devotion to Jesus present in the Holy Eucharist. “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever” (John 6:51). As the incarnate Son of God, Jesus shares in our humanity, and especially through the gift of the Holy Eucharist, the Lord invites us to share in His divinity and the fullness of eternal life. The National Eucharistic Revival will lead to the Eucharistic Congress in July 2024, in Indianapolis. Please read more and explore various resources at: aod.org
Eucharistic Revival is deeply connected with evangelization – living and sharing the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ. The Eucharist leads to evangelization, since our ability to announce the Gospel springs from the passion and resurrection of Christ which is made present anew in the Eucharist. Healed, transformed and unified by a personal encounter with the Lord truly present in the Eucharist, we are sent out as his disciples to bring reconciliation, compassion and life to our hurting, confused, and divided world. In his encyclical letter, Ecclesia de Eucharistia,(literally from Latin: The Church from the Eucharist), Pope John Paul II writes: The Second Vatican Council teaches that the celebration of the Eucharist is at the center of the Church’s growth, as it draws the spiritual grace needed to carry out her mission. The Eucharist thus appears as both the source and the summit of all evangelization, since its goal is the communion of humankind with Christ and in Him with the Father and the Holy Spirit.”
In Christ’s abundant Life,
Fr. Stanley
