Dear Parishioners and Friends,
As we begin another year of Religious Formation, we pray that our students, parents, catechists, and our entire parish family open our hearts and minds to the transforming grace of Jesus’ truth, wisdom, compassion and love. We embrace the redeeming message of Christ and recommit ourselves to spiritual learning and growth. We are grateful to our DRE, Amanda Brewer, and the Catechists, for providing to our young parishioners the amazing experience of “encountering and knowing Jesus Christ.” This year we will especially reflect upon the Beatitudes, and how they can enlighten and guide our daily lives – toward happiness and fulfillment! I want to remind parents that you are the primary teachers and evangelizers of your children – as you lead by word and example. I ask you to make every effort to participate in Sunday Mass – the source and summit of our Christian faith!
There are two main dimensions of catechesis and evangelization: internal and external. We share the message of the Gospel “internally” in our “domestic church,” by being a faithful spouse, loving parent, obedient child, caring sibling and respectful grandchild. Individually and as a family, we make time for prayer, spiritual conversation, reading the Bible and informative Christian literature. The “external” catechesis/evangelization involves sharing the abiding presence and love of God with our church family, neighborhoods, work places, schools, and communities. May all of us continue to grow as Jesus’ disciples, and have the courage and wisdom, to joyfully proclaim the Good News of healing, loving-kindness, and salvation!
In Christ’s abundant Life,
Fr. Stanley
Hello Christian Formation Families!
I hope you and your family have had a great summer!
Our theme for Christian Formation is Not Just a Sunday Thing…Living out the Gospel within our family. This year we will meet monthly, as families, and look at each of the Beatitudes and discuss how we can live them out in our daily lives.
We will have a hybrid format; we will meet in person once a month and children will receive lessons to complete at home. Our once-a-month meetings will be on Sunday at 9:40 am and will be held in the Church. Families are asked to practice social distancing and masks will be required. With all the uncertainty of things, we think this is the best option.
Please fill out the registration form, below, by September 10th.
If you would like a registration packet mailed to you or if you have any questions, please contact abrewer@stmarkparishwarren.org
I am looking forward to a faith filled year,
Amanda
