Dear Parish Family, GENEROUS BEYOND MEASURE A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has given to this lifeline campaign! Every dollar makes a difference! CHURCH CLOSED It has been a couple of years since we have had the parish closed for a snow day. When Fitzgerald Schools are closed, St Mark Parish closes. This includes the cancelation of Mass and events occurring on that day. School closings are announced on television and on the internet. If weather is of a severe nature, please check these resources. SCAM Perhaps many of you were aware, but only recently did I learn of yet another scam to collect info for use for either collecting money or creating malware on our computers. Those rather seemingly innocent quizzes that appear on social media are often a ruse to gather personal information in the most obtuse way. You ask – how could my three favorite foods or places I have been or are on my bucket list, effect a scam? Put into the context of a very sophisticated computer program, they can be used to acquire passwords, install malware, or direct certain websites which are enticing and can encourage bogus sales or yet another scam for our money. Lesson here - is do not participate online in the quizzes! CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS Contribution statements for the year 2022 are available by mail, email, or may be picked up from the Parish Office. Please contact the office and let us know which of these desired methods you wish to have for tax purposes. Reminder – ALL contributions that were contributed between January 1 and December 31, 2022 are included, with the exception of CSA. Contributions to CSA are provided by the Archdiocese of Detroit. SAFETY FIRST! We know things have changed and we all adapt to new circumstances. For the safety of our parishioners and staff, all exterior doors are locked on a daily basis. 45 minutes prior to Mass, two of the main front doors are unlocked and remain so until ten minutes after the Mass begins. This is not unique to St Mark, all churches in the area have been advised to do so. Have a blessed day! Mary Jo
