Dear Parish Family, 2500 years ago the Greek historian Herodotus coined the quote “Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, stays these courageous couriers from swift completion of their appointed rounds.” This reportedly was shared during the war between the Greeks and Persians about 500 BC, regarding the couriers who sent messages. No, although similar, it is not the moto attributed to the Us Post Office! We are grateful for the generosity of the people of Warren who contributed to the Warren Post Office Food Drive to help stamp out hunger. Postal workers made many trips to pick up food from porches, deliver the mail, and then do drop offs at a few different food pantries. This is a huge undertaking and we will now share this with our brothers and sisters suffering from food insecurity. Members of Bishop Murphy Knights of Columbus, were on hand to transport the large amount of nonperishable food for us this past weekend. We are so very grateful for their assistance. This outstanding organization was founded by Michael J. Mc Givney in 1882 demonstrating Catholic men putting their faith in action to serve and protect families. This organization values charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. You may have donated and then been the recipient of a Tootsie Roll, know of the generosity of the Knights to our Confirmandi and children celebrating their First Communion with gifts and their many works of charity. Would you like to be part of this amazing group of guys? They are always looking for good men to join them. May our loving God bless you all. Mary Jo
