How did I get so lucky?
Dear Parish Family,
You are probably thinking, where did she come up with that as a title for this
week’s writing? The answer lies with a gentleman that I met at Costco this
morning. As I thanked him for his assistance, he replied “You are welcome.
How did I get so lucky – as to be born in a country where I can work, send
My children to school, sleep peacefully at night without hearing an air raid
Siren, freely attend church and be thankful for all of my many blessings.”
Is that not the epitome of what we should be grateful for?
As we enter these last couple of weeks of Lent, we are reminded of the
challenges we met, but also our shortfall that we didn’t quite attain. It is
never too late to pick up the pieces that have fallen by the wayside!
Did you spend 10 minutes or more in silence with no distractions?
This brings clarity and a sense of peacefulness to our lives. Sit in Church-
Just you and God? He knows your thoughts and heart! Do an act of love
Every day? It doesn’t have to be large, just something!
I am fascinated with the people that God puts into our lives. As we have
know, it may be for a moment, a season, or a lifetime. Isn’t it interesting
How are lives are impacted by even one small encounter? I was touched
By this good man. He made me think of how grateful I am to our
Loving God and also aware that it is fitting to share this with others.
May we always be open to the blessings that the Holy Spirit sends to us.
