Dear Parish Family, Did you ever ask yourself why, when it is a beautiful bright sunny day – not too hot and not too cold, and yet my state of mind is not joyous and I am feeling alone. How am I affected by my loneliness? We can be alone and not be the least bit lonely, or be surrounded by people and feel very isolated. The first step is to challenge ourselves as to “why do I feel like this? Let’s be honest – it can be difficult, but most necessary!! How do I manage and what steps can I take help alleviate these feelings? Try to not compare yourself to others. We all have our own make up. Take it slow, rather than to dive in headfirst. Make some new connections. Present the best version of yourself, by beginning with a great attitude, a sparkling smile and wearing something that makes you feel good. Step out of your comfort box and send the message that you are interested in others. How do I do that??? Introduce yourself and listen! We know that God loves each and everyone of us. Our spirituality is a sense of something beyond our physical senses and thoughts. Compassion is a great opener! When we listen, we feel, and when we are touched we share our empathy for others. We have this inherent gift and are guided by the words of Jesus. Pray this prayer for strength and moving through loneliness. Dear Lord, Stay by my side, be always my guide, grant me good health, so I may live each day to its fullest. When I am feeling lonely, lift up my heart and help me to see I am not alone. I know you are always here for me. Amen Mary Jo
