We often read words of wisdom, but how often do they resonate with us? “Peace comes from when you realize everything that is out of your control, should be put out of your mind.” Whew! Again, easier said then done. But certainly a lofty goal! I love some of these challenges. How about you? Here again it goes to trusting God.
How do we measure our strength? Not the herculean type, but what comes from our core being. “Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t. We have all heard “I would never be able to do that.” Our teaching tells us that “strength is found by acknowledging and embracing our vulnerabilities.” (2 Corinthians 12:9), God’s power is made perfect in weakness. True strength means leaning on God when we are weak.
Many of us play “the one-man band” and believe that we don’t need others. This may be the devil convincing us of this. The first step to accepting vulnerability is with us. When we admit our lack of strength to God and ourselves, we can change and create peace and strength within us.
