What is it about Christmas that touches us so deeply? Of course, the miracle of our savior’s birth! Who isn’t thrilled with the birth of a baby into a family? Not only was this a very special little one - we know he became Our Lord and Savior. The name “Christmas “ comes from the Mass of Christ or Jesus. The story of Christmas comes to us from a couple of different places in the Bible.
In Mathew 1:18-2:23 and Luke 1:26-2:40 speaks of this, even though the word Christmas is never mentioned.
We need to remember to paint our lives with generosity, peace, family, gratitude and joy and use the external decorations to frame what is the essence of this glorious time. This is a time to rediscover the lasting joy of the Spirit of all that embodies Christmas.
Christmas isn’t just a day, it’s a state of mind when we realize all it encompasses. It can warm our hearts and minds through love shared with others. It is a time for making memories great and small.
Let’s pray this prayer: Dear Lord, May Christmas bring happiness into ours and other homes, peace within our lives, and Jesus into our hearts. Amen
Wishing all of you a very blessed Christmas. Mary Jo
